Phoenix 0.1.8 Announcement
Announcing Phoenix (alpha release 0.1.8):
A Genuinely-WYSIWYG HTML Editor
(You don't have to know what HTML is to use this editor.)
Features

- Supports character styles: ADDRESS, B, CITE,
CODE,
DFN, EM, I, KBD, SAMP, STRONG, TT, U, and VAR.
- Can Copy & Paste text -- whether plain, heading, anchor, and/or styled -- the attributes are retained.
- Ability to copy and paste text from other applications.
- Copy & Paste of Images/Ismaps from web pages is as easy as copying text.
- Easy Anchor Editing -- no need to type the URL in most cases.
- Full Forms-Browsing Capabilities

Phoenix is now officially covered by a
GNU
General Public License.
- Grays out buttons and menus in view HTML mode to signal that they
are unavailable.
- The directory containing
phoenix.server
no
longer needs to be on your path.
- Lowered the number of height readjustments for text in title
box and web page region. Eliminated infinite loop that
sometimes occured.
- Forward button and menu item added.
- Scrollbar vanishes when its not necessary.
- Miscellaneous internal bugs fixed.

Installation process is friendlier for more systems.
- Code can now be handled by K&R and ANSI compilers.
- Bourne shell now used instead of Csh.
- Makefile "basename" incompatibilty fixed.
