Ubuntu Server 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) Daily Build

Ubuntu Server 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) Daily Build

Select an image

Ubuntu-Server is distributed on three types of images described below.

Server install image

The server install image allows you to install Ubuntu-Server permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.

64-bit PC (AMD64) server install image

Choose this if you have a computer based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). Choose this if you are at all unsure.

64-bit ARM (ARMv8/AArch64) server install image

For 64-bit ARMv8 processors and above.

IBM System z server install image

For IBM System z series mainframes, such as IBM LinuxONE.

Server install image

The server install image allows you to install Ubuntu-Server permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.

RISC-V server install image

For RISC-V computers. Requires copying your own first stage bootloader (like u-boot) and relevant DTBs onto the image before usage on real hardware (like the SiFive HiFive Unmatched).
Warning: This image is oversized (which is a bug) and will not fit onto a standard 703MiB CD. However, you may still test it using a DVD, a USB drive, or a virtual machine.

Netboot tarball

The netboot tarball contains files needed to boot the Ubuntu-Server installer over the network.

64-bit PC (AMD64) netboot tarball

Choose this if you have a computer based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). Choose this if you are at all unsure.

64-bit ARM (ARMv8/AArch64) netboot tarball

For 64-bit ARMv8 processors and above.

RISC-V netboot tarball

For RISC-V computers. Requires copying your own first stage bootloader (like u-boot) and relevant DTBs onto the image before usage on real hardware (like the SiFive HiFive Unmatched).

IBM System z netboot tarball

For IBM System z series mainframes, such as IBM LinuxONE.

For ARM hardware for which we do not ship preinstalled images, see ARM/Server/Install for detailed installation information.

A full list of available files can be found below.

If you need help burning these images to disk, see the Image Burning Guide.
